Graduated from the University of Galway with an MB. BCh. BAO honors degree in 2003 and subsequently achieved accreditation of General Professional Training in General (Internal) Medicine (Royal College of Physicians Ireland) and then completed Specialist Training in General Practice. In addition to the Membership of the Irish College of General practitioners (MICGP), Dr Kennedy holds a range of other qualifications including a Diploma in Medicine for the Elderly (RCPI), a Diploma of the Royal college of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, London, a Diploma in Child Health (RCSI), a Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, London, a Diploma in Child Health (RCSI), a Degree of Master of Health Science (Clinical Education), a Degree of Masters of Science in Forensic and legal medicine (University College Dublin) and a Degree of Master of Medical Science (General Practice), a Postgraduate Certificate in Quality Improvement (University of Dundee), a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Teaching and Learning from the Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at the University of Galway, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership and Innovation (University of Dundee). Dr Kennedy is a lecturer in the School of Medicine at the University of Galway, involved in teaching and assessing undergraduate medical students.
